At the center of the enchanting rolling meadows, resided a boy named Shepherd. His existence was essentially untarnished, simple, and honest. His main role was essentially to tend to his flock of sheep.

One afternoon he dashed into the village yelling “Wolf! There is a wolf preying on my sheep!” The terrified villagers rushed up the hills for rescue but found nothing threatening.

The boy giggled at the puzzle on their faces. This game laughed for a couple of more days. Yet, one noon, a real wolf actually come to prey the grazing sheep. The shepherd boy raced for help, shouting “Wolf, Wolf!” But this time, no one responded.

Frustrated and alone, the boy struggled against the wolf but managed to rescue only few of his sheep. Devastated, he returned to the village only to receive a lesson on honesty and the results of false alarms.

His tale of this shepherd boy has been handed down generations as a mediaeval parable to teaching the value of honesty, the here consequences of lying and the perils of false alarms. Moreover, it stresses how trust once lost, is difficult to earn back. It's a story as pertinent today as it was in the past.
